About Amzesia
Technology gave us convenience. It can give us back connection.
Modern technology gave us extraordinary convenience while unintentionally removing some of the interactions that once made communities feel connected. The corner store knew your order. The hardware store knew your project. The street knew your name.
Amzesia doesn't reject modern convenience, and we don't believe the past was simply better. We use modern technology to restore some of what convenience displaced: a way to discover what is around you, ask the people who actually know, find what you need nearby, and let familiarity accumulate naturally.
Remember when your community knew your name? It can again.
Our principles
Success is measured outside the app
Places visited, questions answered, merchants contacted, events attended. Never session duration, never scroll depth.
No engagement machinery
No infinite feed, no follower counts, no popularity scores, no streaks. The home screen is a briefing that ends — on purpose.
Local facts stay honest
Every externally sourced fact carries provenance. Demo data is labeled. We never invent inventory, hours, or testimonials.
Privacy is conservative
No continuous location history. Coarse location where sufficient. Merchants see inquiries, never dossiers.
Belonging isn't gamified
Familiarity accumulates the way it always has: by showing up. We just make the showing up easier.
